Eligibility for Admission

1.1 A citizen of India who has passed B.A./B.Sc. degree examination of Bangalore University of any University in India or abroad recognised as equivalent through 10+2+3 pattern of education obtaining 50% of marks in aggregate of all the subjects he/she studied for 3 years is eligible for admission to B.Ed. Course provided:

a) Languages :
    Should have studied any ONE of the following languages

(i) Kannada (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Urdu (v) Marathi (vi) Sanskrit

b) Elective subjects:
    Should have studied any Two of the following subjects

ARTS:-
(I) History (II)Political Science (iii) Sociology (iv) Geography (v) Economics (vi) Philosophy
SCIENCE:-

(I) Psychology (ii)Physics (iii) Chemistry (iv) Botany (v) Zoology (vi) Geology (vii) Mathematics (viii) Micro Biology (ix) Bio-Technology (x) Computer Science (xi) Electronics (xii) Statistics

OPTIONAL SUBJECTS:-

(i) English (ii) Kannada (iii) Hindi (iv) Urdu (v) Marathi (vi) Sanskrit


Note :
In respect of candidates who have taken more than one year to pass a class or standard, the years of academic study is counted as one year only for this purpose.


2. Candidates must be a graduate with B.A. or B.Sc. and shall have studied any one of the languages and two of three electives specified below.

Languages : English, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Sanskrit.
Electives :

Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Economics, English, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Urdu, Sanskrit.

Candidates have to study any two of the electives specified for all the three years.

Candidates who have obtained a degree in B.A / B.Sc. from the universities situated outside the Karnataka state will have studies in addition to language subjects mentioned above and at least two(2) elective subjects mentioned above in serial no.-2, in their three year course of study in B.A/B.Sc. by appearing in one subject in the University Examination for at least two years and in the Principal subject for all the three years and if there is any change of subject during the course of study of three years, such candidates shall not be eligible for admission to B.Ed. course.

3. Excluding internal and class examination marks and including languages, other than Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category-1 and Physically handicapped candidates must have obtained not less than 50% of the total marks in the three years of study. But in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Category - 1 and Physically handicapped candidates, the minimum marks shall not be less than 45%.

4. The common entrance examination is compulsory for all the candidates seeking admission to B.Ed. BP.ED course.

Candidates should preserve a set of photocopies of all the original documents they have submitted, with them. Centralised admission cell will not issue photocopies to candidates on any reason.

Three years Degree marks cards (Repeaters have to produce marks cards of all the attempts)
4 University migration certificate (only for applicable candidates)
5 Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate.

To consider as Karnataka Candidates minimum 7(seven) years study certificate from 1 standard to 12th standard or qualifying examination to consider for reservation under Karnataka medium, 1st standard to 10th standard study certificate showing the medium of instruction as Kannada.

Forfeiture of fees

  Form the date of admission, if a candidate fails to report to the college or desires to cancel his seat within the period of seven days, 10% of the fees paid will be forfeited towards administrative expenses. If a candidate desires to cancel his seat within a period of 15 days from the date of admission or after the last date of counseling, whichever is earlier, no refund/no adjustment of fees shall be made and the entire amount shall be forfeited.

  If a candidate is absent for 15 days from course the date of reopen of the college his/her admission will be cancelled without any notice and the entire fees should be paid.

  In respect to S.C./S.T. candidates who are exempted from the payment of fees shall also pay the penalty for cancellation of seats as above. Penalty will be collected. The penalties shall be calculated based on the fees payable at the institution/ opted / allotted to the candidate.
