INTRODUCTION: :

    To learn about the mental processes involved in the acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of knowledge. The three main perspective on cognitive - psychology that now define the discipline : experimental cognitive psychology; cognitive science with its emphasis on computational cognitive modelling, and cognitive neuropsychology with its focus on cognition following brain damage will be considered. The critical components of the cognitive system including attention, perceptional and memory, and their application in the more specialized areas of language, categorization, problem solving and creativity will be focused upon. The cognitive approach has widespread influence on other areas of psychology as well as interdisciplinary areas. Understanding these processes will therefore give the students a holistic view of psychology and help students understand human psychology better.

ELIGIBILITY :

     Candidate with 40% marks in the aggregate or the optional subjects, psychology as one of the subjects and 50% of marks in the cognate subjects at the Bachelor's degree level.
