Goutham college of Nursing faculty,
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore, Presents
the following statements of beliefs about Master of Nursing program.
The Master of Nursing program is
offered by Institution of higher education and is built upon a
recognised (by Indian Nursing Council) Bachelor's curriculum in
Nursing.

The program prepares nurses for
leadership in nursing and health field who can function as specialist
nurse practitioners , consultants, educations, administrators
and investigators in a wide variety of professional settings in
meeting the national priorities and the changing needs of the
society.
The program prepares nursing graduates
who are professionally equipped, creative, self directed and socially
motivated to effectively deal with day to day problems within
the existing constraints and this acts as an agent of social change.
Further the program encourage accountability
and commitment to life long learning which fosters improvement
of quality care.
OBJECTIVES :

cognitive, affective and psychomotor competencies and the
ability to utilize the potentialities for efficient nursing
performance. |

in the utilization of concepts and theories for the assessment,
planning and intervention in in meeting the self care needs
of an individual for the attainment of his/her fullest potential
in his/her (Graduate) field of specialty. |

ELIGIBILITY
:
The candidate seeking admission
must :-
| 1 |
Have
passed B.Sc., Nursing / Post Certificate B.Sc., Nursing
degree of this university or any other university accepted
as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi Institute of health sciences
Karnataka with 55% of aggrigate.

Have a
minimum of one year of experience after obtaining B.Sc.,
Nursing (Basic), in hospital or Nursing Educational institute
or Community Health Setting. |
For B.Sc., Nursing Post Certificate
no such experience is needed after graduation |
| 3 |
The Candidate shall be
| 1 |
A registered nurse and a registered midwife for admission
to branch I, II, III, and IV. |
| 2 |
A
registered (Psychiatric Nursing) nurse for admission
to branch V.(Psychiatric Nursing) |

Criteria for selection of candidates

The candidate shall be selected
on merit judged on the basis of academic performance in B.Sc.,
Nursing / Post Certificate B.Sc., Nursing and selection test. |
